Summary

The PNG Women’s Forum is an annual event sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby to engage public and private sector leaders from throughout Papua New Guinea on the topic of women’s political and economic empowerment. The 2019 Forum was held on November 6-7, 2019 and titled "Empowering Through Partnerships," hosted by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby. The Forum was attended by more than 300 distinguished guests and champions of women's empowerment in PNG and offered a platform where participants could share their views on the status of women’s issues, network and form new partnerships, as well as focus on best practices for implementation of gender empowerment strategies. Participants offered recommendations, available below, which were directly received by Prime Minister James Marape who attended the final session.
